What is Project Management as a Service (PMaaS)?

PMaaS is an adaptable consulting service that allows clients to either scale up or down the number of project management resources needed. LEAN Management and Consulting, LLC will not only provide traditional project management support, but it will also act as a partner in all aspects of service delivery, to include recruitment, onboarding, training, and establishing a PMO.

PMaaS offers a total project management office solutions package that includes conducting assessments, establishing a new PMO or enhancing an existing one, providing a governance structure and the project management personnel and tools to deliver project results.

Implement a new Project Management Office (PMO)

The first step in establishing a new PMO is to assess the organization’s culture and determine what type of PMO is the best fit. The company executives will decide what level of influence and control the PMO will have and that will dictate which type to implement.

LM&C will process the information gathered to develop a PMO charter, work collaboratively to create the PMO framework, governance structure and all the necessary processes, tools, and training for a successful PMO launch and sustainability.

PMOs can be classified in different ways, but the most common are listed below.

  • Directive PMO – Takes over projects. Introduces a common methodology and terminology across the enterprise.
  • Controlling PMO – Supports projects with mandates to implement recommendations for processes and tools.
